Oak Cafeé is based in the Manchester Craft & Design centre, serving beverages, cakes and lunch food. I re-designed and made the boards that hang in their space, informing customers about their offers. It wasn’t just about making them pretty - it was important that they are legible and easy to read in a glimpse of an eye.
In choosing my colour palette, I was inspired by Oak Café’s interior design and the beautiful purple flowers that hang off their walls.
The boards were hand-written by the staff in colours that were hard to read, which made the boards less useful.
Using a clear layout and a stand-out colour palette, I designed the boards to draw the customer’s eyes to the most important pieces of information.
